Fuck Brian Williams....
Going on about Katrina, promoting his own career on the backs of the people the people in New Orleans...

How indignant when he when the Supreme Court gave the election to that ass hole.

How indignant was he when all the interest went from Afghanistan to Iraq.

I'm sick of these ass hats, playing like they had no culpability in how everything that happened in this country since the penis incident.

One more observation, would Walter Cronkite or Harry Reasoner gone on Laugh In?

You don't enhance your cred by making a fool out of yourself on the Daily Show...

5. Nixon was a political figure....
The people who report the news should be above that.

I think this, my, generation of news readers are more interested in being loved instead of being respected.

18. I agree with you
And doesn't Williams appear in sketches on Jimmy Fallon's late night talk show almost as a regular?

To me, what's even more troubling is journalists appearing on news commentary shows as commentators. Nothing wrong with an opinion columnist doing that, but a news journalist?

The lines have become so blurred that it's a wonder they can keep track of which hat they're supposed to be wearing when...

30. Perhaps he is so bright and shiny he gets more attention
or maybe it is just megabucks network promotion blaring from the TV, but Harry Shearer ( The Simpson's, This is Spinal Tap, Le Show radio ) has been talking about Katrina for years now, and has a new documentary about it, and lots of others too....Spike Lee's name may ring a bell, he has a new follow up documentary airing this week.

13. You should have seen him on Letterman last night.
Dave wanted to talk about the issues and all he did was ask Williams questions, what he thought about different things. Don't think Brian was that comfortable with it, all the serious conversation instead of the usual frivolous shit you get on talk shows.

23. I agree w/you Atomic...I saw him on Chrarlie Rose and regard-
less of whatever his slants were in the past (I don't know that much about him), he has really taken on the NOLA/Katrina situation. In fact, I was on line and got a heads up that he was on so I turned to it right away. The DU'er said that he/she thought Brian Williams could be a DU'er (not that he is a DU'er but his views regarding this mirror what we think). IMO, he clearly indicated that Bush/Cheney were very much responsible. He stated that all of us are equal, and that it's as wrong as wrong can be to have let this happen and that it was a class issue. I think I remember him saying something like how would things have been if this had happened in a prosperous community. People can change when a light comes on. Maybe that happened to him. I have to admit that I don't know if he slants his nightly news because I've been boycotting Network News (not K.O. & Rachel of course :-)since bush stole the sElection....just my 2 cents.

It's actually one of the best "news" programs on the TeeVee right now.

26. That's what I'm saying! I'm no Williams fan but it is no disgrace to go on The Daily Show
There is more news on that show than whole networks can muster. Hell, for most of the past decade there was more truth per minute than any other source.

We've fallen far from our nightly "and that's the way it is".
