The 50 Worst Sports TV Personalities Of All Time (you-know-who is there)
By Lance Pauker (Correspondent) on July 20, 2010
Sports, like many other aspects of life, can often be interpreted from the eye of the beholder.

Sometimes however, sports anchors make this process exceedingly difficult. Since the boom of ESPN, sports reporting has been elevated to new heights, allowing viewers access to news, stories, and sports idiosyncrasies unavailable to the common sports fanatic a mere generation ago.

As with anything in excess, there are deleterious side effects. Throughout the years, the occupation of the "sports anchor" has produced personalities, reporting styles, and comments that are umm—how do I say this nicely—undesirable?

1. I only watch Basketball. I like Van Gundy's dry sense of humor. Sports threads uually die a quick
death on DU, btw.

2. LOL, I guess you when you said "you-know-who" you were referring to Sarah Palin.
I originally thought you meant O.J. Simpson.

I think Kenny Albert deserves to be on the list too. I remember one time he was reading some historical stats and didn't seem to know who Nap Lajoie was. He kept mispronouncing his name. Joe Morgan kept correcting him....and seemed a little taken aback that a baseball announcer didn't know the name of one the biggest stars from the early years of the game.

4. Yeah, but now I'm curious about what you wrote. I read the title: "LOL, I thought you meant"
and when I clicked on the post you had just deleted it.

I was looking forward to some observation about Sarah Palin or O.J. Simpson.

5. I'm sorry.
The first name that popped into my head was Ben Roethlisberger. He wasn't a sportscaster though. And I hope he never will be.

:dunce: <= me

7. All of them. They all have the same stupid monotonous delivery.
There are restaurant/bar places with dozens of TVs all on sports channels and every damn one of them sounds the same, although to be fair, the NASCAR guys all have southern accents even if they learned to fake them and the golf guys can put you to sleep in a room full of people.

8. No Dennis Miller?
I was watching a King of the Hill rerun last night and Hank's boss referred to "That comedian that ruint Monday Night Football."

Without Miller and Limbaugh this list is meaningless.
