Marcellus summit canceled!
An Oct. 1 summit to bring together industry executives, elected officials and other stakeholders in the Marcellus Shale natural gas industry in Pittsburgh has been canceled.
Travis Windle, spokesman for Marcellus Shale Coalition, confirmed Wednesday that the summit, which was to have been held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center had been canceled.

Windle said there were numerous logistical and scheduling reasons that led to the cancellation. There currently are no plans to reschedule it, he said.

The coalition's website had previously stated that Tom Ridge, former state governor who is now a (shill for shale) strategic adviser for the coalition, Aubrey McClendon, CEO of Chesapeake Energy, John H. Pinkerton, chairman and CEO of Range Resources, and Gubernatorial candidates Dan Onorato and Tom Corbett had been confirmed as speakers.

The summit was to showcase the Marcellus Shale's economic and energy production potential.

Another website, MarcellusProtest.org had urged those who seek to end Marcellus Shale drilling and hydrofracturing to attend a rally opposite the convention center that day.

Windle said the protests had nothing to do with the event's cancellation.

1. Now we just need to stop the Marcellus Destruction (Exploration).
I've put up these links before, but far too many people here in PA are still ignorant of the facts about the dangers of the "Exploration" taking place.

This is one of the best sources of information about the damage and risks associated with the drilling.
