Fox News Corporation Created and is Sponsoring the Counter MLK Gathering.
Edited on Wed Aug-18-10 03:22 PM by David Zephyr
In one of the most vile and sickening episodes of it's apparent love-affair with advocacy of white supremacy, Fox News' employees Glen Beck and Sarah Palin (yes, she's a Fox employee and we need to remind people of this) are holding their own "I Have a Dream" gathering at the Lincoln Memorial -- on the anniversary of the day Martin Luther King delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech.

This is nothing less than a Fox News event, hyped by Fox News throughout the day on their news cable company, spearheaded by Fox News Employee, Glen Beck with Guest Speaker and Fox Employee Sarah Palin. Considering Glen Beck having said that "President Obama has a deep hatred for white people", considering all of the slurs Sarah Palin has made about the NAACP, considering Bill O'Reilly's famous comment "I'm not ready yet to lead the lynching party against Michelle Obama", considering Fox's getting caught coloring the tone of President Obama darker than the actual photographic originals were, considering Fox's racist and false charges against ACORN, considering Fox News' role in the entire race-baiting affair against Shirley Sherrod, considering Fox's early role in the false "birth certificate" lie about the President, every American should be aware of exactly what Fox News in up to with their "Tea-Party" rally. How can anyone see this as anything less than a white supremacist thumb in the nose of the entire Civil Rights movement and to people of color?

Racism is evil. And Fox News sure invests a lot of time, money and energy right there stirring it up. One would think that someone there might suggest that they could actually still make money without this sort of shit.

Evil needs to be called out when it raises its head.

This is truly one of the sickest things I've seen Fox News do. And it shows how truly racist that the entire Fox News organization seems to be willling to be. They actually make my head spin as I try to keep up with who they are scaring white, heterosexual Americans against, because it seems to me that if they are not whipping up hate against Latinos along the border, or whipping up hatred against gay and lesbian Americans, or whipping up hatred against Muslim Americans, then they must be back busy at work whipping up hatred against African-Americans.

Is there anyone at Fox News that in uncomfortable with this shit? Anyone?

Apparently, Roger Ailes delights in this sick shit, just as Karl Rove carved his early career with race-baiting. Maybe, Roger Ailes wants to probe just how racist his overwhelmingly white audience at Fox News is.

Make no mistake about it. Glen Beck's "event" is completely a Fox News creation. And they are loving how they can stick it to minorities once again.

For all the "outrage" by Fox News anchors over the desires of some Muslims in New York to have a place of worship a few blocks from the former site of the Twin Towers, it is just grandly hypocritical for Fox News to have Glen Beck host his own separate event at the Lincoln Memorial on a day that celebrates the great Dr. Martin Luther King. What a rotten crowd they are over there at Fox.

But don't expect them to change. They relish this sort of thing. And they are besides themselves with glee. And that should make every American wonder what their final goal is for this nation.

1. Should the KlanBaggers be allowed to rally at a memorial to the person who ended slavery?
That seems awfully insensitive to me.

K & R

You know that civil/race war they talk about? They way they say Obama has set race relations back? Well it seems to me, that's they are stoking and ginning up a civil/race war. I truly believe that's what they want.

5. Would even Armstrong Williams or other ultra-right African Americans appear
onstage with Beck and Palin at such an event? Any African-American who would defile the memory of Dr. King at such a place and time had better be wearing a disguise. People do not easily forget such treachery.

7. They have surely lassooed the American mind
I always felt that given the size of America and population blend we were not homogeneous enough for this to happen. But infiltrating even local news programming with content and supporting so damned much right wing activity, Fox has managed to use ethnocentricity to achieve control and the worst ends.

15. Thanks. The glaring hypocrisy of Fox's anti-muslim hysteria vs Beck (Fox) MLK event is too much.
They are truly vile and they love stirring the racist pot.

But, fortunately, at long last, they are becoming known as a rabidly racist network.

12. I'll bet they're trying to invoke a riot
The right-wing could sure use some race-based violence around now. I hope no one takes the bait.

17. Well, they certainly cheer up the "minutemen" and "gun-carrying" to tea-party events.
Nothing Fox does anymore surprises me.

They could care less that everyone is on to their racism.

They are just bigots and they love it.

13. Click on this post for more anti-Beck ammo
More proof of Beck's racism came earlier this month on his show when he had a 'Planet of the Apes' rant re: President Obama. The video (which Fox has tried to suppress by keeping off of YouTube) is at this link:
