4. I'm glad you're not feeling as cynical as me. At this point, I feel like asking:

"What freedoms?" The continuation of draconian surveillance practices and the fear-mongering of the RW to trample the rights of gays, immigrants, and Muslims make me wonder. What happened to our country? More and more money down the drain in useless wars is only helping weaken us, IMHO.

We are free to be robbed blind by the rich and the MIC. Great.

optimist by nature and am living a really shitty personal life right now, so I have to have faith in something.

Keep the faith and maybe don't believe half of what you read here or see on the m$m. Find a rational news source you trust and maybe try to see the big picture.

I do not recall any reference to a single terrorist or terrorist group who claimed to hate us for our "freedoms".

It is a pretty simplistic jingoistic phrase though..suitable for Conservatives and now Tea Partiers to drag behind them as they suck their thumbs in deep concentrated thought....

I used to read the anonymous liberal's blog all the time til he went offline, so this was a welcome return for me.
