They pay presidential candidates while they wait to run. They give them a soap box, too.

How is this not against campaign finance law? Yeah, I know. They're not yet declared. I get it. The question was mildly hyperbolic.

Context: subbing on the Ed show on MSNBC

3. Is it time to look at in kind donations. I am not talking about the opinion
shows. Fox claims that their day coverage is "straight" news, not Republicon talking points. I question that. If they are using "news" shows to promote candidates, is that not in kind donations?

4. WE figured it out a DECADE ago...
and finally someone ON the news has "figured it out"?

A very long time ago I (and others here) suggested that ALL dem office-seekers/office-holders boycott FOX..but of course they still show up from time to time to be battered around like a kitty-cat play-toy:grr:

Ages ago, Fox should have been officially portrayed as the republican news network, and plans should have been in place to create our own, if for no other reason than for some parity, but our "play-fair" party leaders & donors decided that they could somehow get a fair shake by going on ALL the venues. CNN is not a "friendly"..MSNBC has a few "friendlies", but even they insist on including right wing nutcases to "play devil's advocate".. The devil needs no advocate..he has Fox/Newsmax/almost every radio station in the country/most publishing houses/most newspapers & magazines.

5. You are totally correct
Instead of staying off Fox and treating them like the Cartoon Network, they yell JUMP at our top brass, and our top brass says "how high, sir?"

When it comes to media, we are serial Stupids.

8. 3 years ago Cenk was on Countdown with Keith Olbermann about this issue.
The point is people ON the news don't say it enough and when the White House stood up to Fox most of the MSM shot them down and defended Fox.

6. How does that fact affect their advertisers?
I can't see how it would be legal to advertise products on a GOP controlled propaganda network without full disclosure. By proxy these companies are directly supporting and endorsing GOP candidates.

Maybe this is the "in" we can use to start dismantling Faux?

7. Cenk is really going after it

He's terrific on tv. He's articulate, photogenic, witty, fearless and cordial. I even did my shopping earlier so I could get home in time to watch today's program.

He reminds me of Rachel because he takes on anyone from the right wing and debates them so well.
