Dear Randi: It's News Corp. (as in corporation) not Corps (as in Marine Corps).
So it's pronounced "korp" nor "core". Corp. is an abbreviation for corporation. Corps is a word that means military body. News Corp. is hardly a military body even though it's run like a dictatorship.
She always mispronounces it and for some reason it drives me nuts.
6. Never heard the Obama say that. As far as Randi goes, her job is
as a professional radio commentator where she frequently talks about News Corp. and it would behoove her to correctly know how to pronounce the things she frequently talks about. And it also probably bothers me more than normal with her because she always comes off as such a f'ing know-it-all about everything.
