Right now - corporate takeover of viewer supported news station livestreaming broadcasts!
I can't find this anywhere
yet on news web sites. This morning I was watching Democracy Now live
on my computer, as usual, and the broadcast was interrupted constantly
by corporate commercials! This is a viewer supported broadcast. Evidently
Livestream.com has now sold ad space to corporations to air ads during
these livestream broadcasts.

I switched to Firefox and even after blocking every single script with
my add-ons, the commercials still played.

I think this is indeed a huge "tipping point" of some kind! Soon we'll be forced to watch corporate commercials and ads before we can read or send e-mail!

The corporate takeover of our lives is complete! There's no where else
to run! They're everywhere now!

1. They don't own me.
Nor do I give corporate systems respect. Although I do like to find good things in everything.

Just don't let what you disagree with by thinking and feeling into your head, find a different way to see things. They can show something, but it is your choice how you see it.

Then they can even help you find better thoughts they didn't even know were there.

2. I hate to be marketed to for sh** I will never by or use
I stop at the gas station and they have a speaker that blares ads for iced sodas and stale sandwiches that I would not even eat fresh. At least the thing has a mute button..does not work all the time, and still blares I quit going to that Valero station awhile back. Then theres that bunch of junk mail that comes every day, even when I put us on the do not mail or do not phone lists.

3. Don't you get the implications of this?
This opens the flood gates to government and corporate propaganda and brainwashing, and it indicates that these entities now have the capability and intention of controlling our access to even independent news sources!

Just as with cable TV, we used to be able to get commercial-free programming by subscribing to and supporting by donations, public and private channels, being able to do that with the internet is now a thing of the past.

You all probably can't imagine a time when commercials and ads didn't permeate every form of media, but now those days are over for good.

Watching ads or trying to tune them out is one thing, but having corporate sponsors over-ride programming to jam their ads into your heads is now part of even independent news channels and web sites such as DemocracyNow.org

To me, this is very, very alarming!

4. Have you tried e-mailing democracy now
to find out what's going on? I assume they're aware of it, but it would be interesting to hear their take on it.

5. Maybe I'm not understanding. I can stream the show from the DN! site
without commercials of any kind.
