1. I Prefer To Think Of A Lot Better Things...
A nice sunny day...birds are chirping. Reid is the latest fool who couldn't stay away from the Fauxrage©...an astroturfed wedge "issue" intended to trap Democrats and make them look silly and stupid in the corporate media. As long as Democrats step into these cesspools and traps, the longer they'll go on.

3. Remember in 2000 when Lieberman said to count the military votes
even if they were duplicates or were postmarked after the due date? (capitulating to the OuTrAgEd repub senators?)- some dems just have no guts.

8. It's a e-election prayer in an election year
If you expect any politician fighting to be re-elected not to weigh in on something like this you're being naive. Especially when Angle jumped in with her two worthless cents worth. Just the fact she won the primary tells him he's got a lot of teabaggers to convert.

For politicians, morality is different than it is for ordinary people. It's always a triangulated equation for the benefit of the politicians when they practice it. It's just the way they're wired.

And I'm not even being judgmental when I say this. It's just the way it is.

13. Could be that he hears...
...his constituents wanting as much?

It is a 'no lose' statement right now for Nevada.

Not good for foreign exposure, or good for New York, even.

But the money in Lost Wages is on the anti-religious side.

24. I'm just saying that's the way politicians are wired
He doesn't have to pander to teabaggers, but he can't lose by making that statement. Democrats aren't going to vote for Angle no matter what, but he might get some Independents if he covers all the bases. Support the Constitution but say you think they should build the mosque somewhere else. It's a typical politicians statement. Both feet firmly planted, just that one is planted on one side of the fence and the other on the other side. That's the way a politician's mind works.

9. Hell, I don't know. It just saddens me
thaat the character of this nation is such that any politician would think it advisable to take a bigoted position while trying to appeal to the left half of the electorate.

Yes, maybe he's a wimp; yes, maybe he lacks courage. But I'm used to that in politicians. I'm a lot more disgusted by a public that demands symbolic intolerance from its "leaders."

10. Any story to go with that picture?
Harry's latest cave in to the realities of campaigning make the picture look extremely hypocritical. I'm curious as to what was going on while he was in that pose.

12. Who will our leadership sell out next?
I don't think most people have a full grasp on the implications of this. They're fucking with the Constitution to placate the bigots. This deserves a strong stand, and this is what we get.

17. This bigoted GOP cr@p, enabled by the Harry Reids, is why Guantanamo is still open.
We don't want those bakers and goat herders we've been holding without trial to mix with our precious rapists and murderers.

Speaking of which, kudos to Congressman Joe Sestak
