So what is hiding under the ground zero flap?
This is a huge distraction created by the right, pumped into the mainstream and being played loudly by the mighty wurlitzer. Usually when it plays this loudly there is something going on that they want us to overlook.

What are we missing in the news because of this?

5. Since you asked
here is the story not covered today. Your presnit went over to a battery plant, one of them new fangled plants built with the stimulus.

Let me see, STOP the mosque, or see, jobs created in a new green economy. What do you think will get the republicans in a knicker and ready to distract?

That said the Mosque story is damn scary for OTHER reasons.

13. I worry when this kind of hate and dissension is stirred up.
Edited on Tue Aug-17-10 12:01 AM by Blue_In_AK
At a time when people worldwide really, really need to come together to try to mitigate some of the planet's and humankind's problems, certain evil forces (yes, I'm talking about you, Sarah Palin, you fraud ... among many others) are conspiring to bring on Armageddon. I have Muslim extended family, a grandson -- I can't bear this hate-mongering.

The point is to bring us all together against a common, hateful, evil enemy.

Let's see if it works in America.

8. The huge amount of money the Republicans are spending to
defeat Democratic Congressman and Governers. Norman Goldman was talking about some right wing political group starting today were spending millions in campaign ads.

This is what the distraction is. They are trying to hide the fact that 5 Supreme Court Justices made corporations even more powerful than they already were.

10. it's the usual hate/fear mongering election year wedge issues from repukes
is any of it surprising? It's to distract from the fact that, well, they don't HAVE anything else to run on because THEY caused this immense wreckage we are experiencing

12. Just their semi=annual search for a distracting election issue to rile up the idiots. And when it
can tap a basic instinct like hatred, it works better for them.

15. I honestly don't think this is that planned out
I don't deny that they do such things, but this seems genuinely organic in nature. Some group gets pissed, Beck/O'Reiily/Whoever talk about it, loud people get angry, media keys in on loud people, etc.

This seems like RW politicians leaping onto the ol' hate bandwagon, rather than driving it

16. I think the Pubs were searching for something to create turmoil during August.
Lst year they had Health Care & the Teabaggers at all the town halls screaming and yelling. They didn't have anything tis year that would comand that kind of attention so they came up with this Mosque idea, and aparently the media has bought it hook line & BS!

17. Their foundation is built on 9/11
Soon, there may be TV ads about WTC 7, being aired in NYC.
That has to be making someone real nervous.
