"An unconscious people, an indoctrinated people, a people fed only partisan information........

....... and opinion that confirm their own bias, a people made morbidly obese in mind and spirit by the junk food of propaganda is less inclined to put up a fight, ask questions and be skeptical. And just as a democracy can die of too many lies, that kind of orthodoxy can kill us, too.

-- Bill Moyers

"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing."

2. Beautiful summaries of what is happening in America today.
Sad too. Tragic, in fact.

6. And each group defined by any such bias...
... naturally thinks that THEY themselves are the only such group outside of, or immune to, the phenomenon Moyers describes. :(

7. True. I was wondering why there is so little tolerance for
different religions. I studied Asian religions in College. I was raised Catholic. I spent several summers going to Baptist Bible camp with friends in the neighborhood. We had Jewish neighbors. A friend was Mormon-she and I had two of the largest families in the school. I cannot remember such a slide back wards toward intolerance.
