Obama: "What I am opposed to is a dumb war. What I am opposed to is a rash war."
I don't oppose all wars. And I know that in this crowd today, there is no shortage of patriots, or of patriotism. What I am opposed to is a dumb war. What I am opposed to is a rash war.

6. And
"The presidential hopeful said the “No Child Left Behind” educational law relies too heavily on standardized test results and “forces teachers to teach to the test.”

He advocated a more holistic approach and said schools should not be punished because of their test scores.

11. More fun quotes from that speech:
You want a fight, President Bush? Let’s fight to make sure our so-called allies in the Middle East, the Saudis and the Egyptians, stop oppressing their own people, and suppressing dissent, and tolerating corruption and inequality, and mismanaging their economies so that their youth grow up without education, without prospects, without hope, the ready recruits of terrorist cells.

You want a fight, President Bush? Let’s fight to wean ourselves off Middle East oil, through an energy policy that doesn’t simply serve the interests of Exxon and Mobil.

13. I, too, my Dear Mr. President, was and still am opposed to the dumb and rash wars
you foresaw in 2002, but they still rage, now at a cost in treasure exceeding $1 trillion, not to mention a reported several hundred thousand deaths, an untold number of other severe casualties, countless children made orphans, millions made refugees, and finally staggering numbers of lost limbs and damaged brains: these wars are both dumb and rash considering all the aforesaid costs in the absence of compelling and readily available evidence provided by the government that conclusively demonstrates their overall cost-effectiveness. Then, and only then, I will be on board touting their efficacy as a panacea for all this Republic's woes. :P
