Armey’s FreedomWorks called the Tea Party “a hostile takeover of the Republican Party”
I wonder how the gop likes these apples?

Palin Joins Armey as Lifelong Republicans Boost Tea Party Hostile Takeover
By Jonathan D. Salant - Aug 11, 2010 11:01 PM ET

The pitch came at the end of Rand Paul’s conference call with 2,000 potential supporters:

Go online to donate to Paul, the Kentucky Republican Senate candidate who is courting Tea Party activists. Or press seven to give $25 to FreedomWorks, the advocacy organization headed by former House Majority Leader Dick Armey that sponsored the July 13 call, said Matt Kibbe, the group’s president.

Even as candidates such as Paul tout their anti- establishment credentials, much of their financial clout comes from veteran Republicans such as Armey, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint and onetime U.S. Representative Chris Chocola, who aim to reshape their party.

“This movement is a hostile takeover of the Republican Party,” Kibbe said of the Tea Party, a loose collection of activists who favor lower taxes, government spending cuts and the repeal of a law overhauling U.S. health care.

FreedomWorks, which also advocates less government and lower taxes, hosted some 50 Tea Party activists in Washington last weekend to train them in organizing, such as going door-to- door to help candidates challenging established Republicans in this year’s elections. Many activists are also vying for positions on local Republican Party committees.

1. Not really -
just a 'rebranding' by Armey and said Kibbe. Don't forget after the 2008 elections all the hacks said the ReTHUG brand was dead and they needed a new gig.

May they all eat one another live on TV.

2. Hey, I like their message, specifically because it
should worry the gop and split the party.

4. The Party started out to be a way to corral their voting base and keep them dumbing down

all the issues. In the end they are going to get their candidate and it may not be someone with a suit and tie and country club membership, or someone who is listed in the who's who of politics, and it might not be the chamber of commerce president from Knoxville. But, a country 'earthey typey' Washington lobbyist could fill the bill. They should just keep Palin fund raising around the country with her baby and her baby's nanny. She's got political down to earth twisted logic charisma and no qualms about lying.

6. The Problem With Hostile Takeovers Is That
The problem with hostile takeovers is that the defending stockholders have to spend gobs of money to fight off the aggressors and that after the aggressors take over, the experienced management is out, employees are disgruntled, and the corporate treasury is often in sorry shape. What often follows is bankruptcy and liquidation.

Bankrumptcy and liquidation--that's what I see happening to the GOP if they give control of their party to their most reactionary factions.

7. The sad thing is that the lunatics are now running the asylum.
You can't put the genie back into the bottle. Armey released these thugs and miscreants. Now, he'll have to deal with them in their unbridled glory.

The Teabaggers have shown an aptitude and appetite for destruction. May they go whole hog when cannibalizing the GOP.

9. But it seems he's pissing the gop off with some of the whacked
out teabaggers, not to mention (so I will) their divisiveness.
