I was just asked why I HATE such a good man like Falwell
WHERE do I begin? He brought so much hate and pain onto the gay community. Wasn;t it Falwell who mocked those who died of AIDS in the early 80's? NOW, we're suppose to respect him?

2. Really, like you're the ass for returning what he dished out in the first place.
I'd like to smack the shit out of everyone who's blind to how hateful fartwell was to so many but who jump at the chance to defend him now.

3. There is literally no one defending his positions
There are only people defending his humanity. Falwell wouldn't do such a thing. Neither do many here. But good people will.

5. He may have been a human, but that doesn't mean he had any humanity.
Mengele treated half of the twins very well. Fuck that shit.

9. Thank you
that needed to be said. And I love how everyone's quoting bible verse to shame us heathens into making nice about foulwell.

What would the world be like right now if Foulwell and his immoral majority hadn't come onto the governemtn scene. Or if he wasn't such an evil fucker about it.

I only regret that I don't believe in hell because it would sure be nice if I could believe a man like that would get his just rewards.

Instead he poisoned a generation (or two) and now is worm food rather than paying for his hate. By all accounts he had a long and prosperous life. Wish I believed in Karma as well, but how many times have we all seen people live a life of hate and destruction and die old and rich. Too many to beleive in Karma, that's for sure.

16. Not at all. I've hated the fucker since he attacked my music as a kid, and I'm glad he's gone.
And, as you may have noticed, I'm not exactly famous around here for saying popular things here. I just don't give a shit what others think about my opinion - I know it's only that.

Death to those who hate in the name of Jesus, whether he was real or not.

12. He didn't practice it, but he had the worth of any human
Falwell and his type didn't/don't think all people are valuable, not even to God. I have always firmly disagreed, so I am bound to think that even was, to someone. To God, to his family. I'm not going to throw that notion of human value away for anyone, ever.

8. Some DUers are now criticizing those who discuss his actual
public statements and actions... When they are unemotionally reviewing the man's life and impact with FACT, that is not "disrespectful" nor suggestive of not being a "good" person. I too, was raised never to speak ill of the dead, the sick, the mentally ill, but that does not equate to having to say NICE things where they are not deserved, nor to profess "grief" where none is (rightfully) present.

No one here wished him specific ill, nor to die as far as I saw. He died of natural causes. TO discuss his life truthfully and dispassionately is NOT disrespectful, IMO.

15. No one asked for tears, and if someone wants to
use now to criticise his politics or theology, fine, but what I've seen takes that as a prelude to "and that's why he's in hell."

It would seem many who might be saying that don't believe in hell.... Go, figure....

4. Can someone tell us the "rest of the story" on this one?
i.e., like where this ad appeared, or if, as I assume it was simply an ad parody, where/when it was published? DId Falwell try to sue over it? I suspect I may have heard something about it at the time, but I've blocked it outl

or was added to allow for it to be "redistributed."

7. This ad appeared in HUSTLER Magazine
Larry Flint was sued over it by Falwell. I'm looking for a list of anti gay things Falwell has done. Someone who is calling me an insensitive prick thinks I am exagerating some of Falwell's anti gay comments. Didn;t Falwell mock those who died of AIDS? Anyone???

10. It was in Hustler, I think.
Something like it was in Hustler anyway. And Fallwell did sue over it. And lost. It's part of the story of Milos Forman's The People vs. Larry Flynt.

:wtf:

I've never witnessed a single kind act or good deed he ever did. (I still agree with Stephanie about what's on the home page about him.)
