Chamber of Commerce as a political arm of the GOP?
I think I found the evidence:

Fla. Chamber endorses all-GOP legislative slate

The Florida Chamber of Commerce has announced its endorsements of legislative candidates in Central Florida. Not surprisingly, there’s not a single Democrat among them:

Today, the Florida Chamber of Commerce announced candidate endorsements in contested Central Florida races for Florida Senate and House of Representatives elections.

It begins: Corporate Campaign Cash Floods US Elections

Conservative fundraising commitment has stunned Democrats

by Tom Hamburger

WASHINGTON -- Driven by increasing anger at Democratic policies and by recent Supreme Court decisions unshackling corporate contributions, business and conservative groups are preparing a flood of campaign money to try to wrest control of Congress from the Democrats.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the biggest collection point for corporate contributions, has increased its spending for the congressional election in November from $35 million in 2008 to a projected $75 million this year. Officials say it may go even higher.

The chamber has been joined by new conservative fundraising organizations - such as American Crossroads, affiliated with Republican strategist Karl Rove - that have committed to raising tens of millions of dollars.

One report circulating among Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill last week estimated that more than $300 million has been budgeted for the campaign by a group of 15 conservative tax-exempt organizations.

7. U.S. Chamber of Commerce: Cut Social Security
U.S. Chamber of Commerce: Cut Social Security

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce sent the White House an "open letter" laying out a proposed roadmap to economic recovery, coinciding with the organization's "Jobs Summit" underway in Washington. The Chamber is an ultra-conservative political operation primarily funded by a handful of large companies. It plans to spend more than $50 million electing Republicans to Congress in 2010.

The Chamber's four-page letter offers a variety of suggestions for job creation, though it doesn't appear that they flipped past the first few pages of the free-market playbook when brainstorming the proposal. The ideas include deregulation of business, tax cuts for the wealthy, free trade agreements, a reduced corporate income tax, expanded offshore drilling and logging in national forests and the privatization of waterways and roads.

Specifically, the Chamber urges the president to extend Bush-era tax cuts in full and provide tax breaks for companies that move jobs overseas.
