On Monday the United Auto Workers announced plans to intensify pressure on non-unionized companies. The union has already been revving the engine with informational pickets at auto dealerships for non-unionized auto companies such as Toyota under the newly elected leadership of President Bob King. In a speech in Traverse City, Michigan on Monday King said the labor organization will begin asking companies to sign a pledge to principles that if adopted the will let the company off the hook from pressure even if their workers choose not to join a union. On the flipside, if the companies aren’t willing to adopt the principles King said the UAW will not tolerate any company that impedes the rights of workers to organize through threats, firings, or closure of locations. King said the movement toward increasing the UAW’s activism beyond the auto industry and companies it has already organized is “about democracy” and “First Amendment rights.”

1. Picketing the dealerships is a dumb move, IMHO. The UAW is O.O.I
Out of ideas.

They should be picketing GM, Ford & Chrysler for closing plants, outsourcing jobs to Mexico, while expanding emphasis in Europe & overseas , UNIONBUSTING, etc...

Oh wait...The UAW is a major stockholder in GM & Chrysler!11!!ELEVENS!!

Hmmmm.
