Trust me, we don't get anywhere near oil rigs, and in our 15 years in business had only one claim for a twisted ankle, and that was on our worker's comp, not our liability. Basic rule is "don't do anything stupid, and WHEN (not if) you do, take responsibility and apologize sincerely, make it right, and keep checking to be sure it stays right." Period. We fork out between $2K-$3K for the privilege of being able to provide a cert of insurance to potential clients.

It chaps me no end to have learned that BP only had to carry $75M in liability coverage for that hellhole well, and I'm glad to hear that congress has lifted the minimum to unlimited. Small businesses in this country get screwed while irresponsible oil companies get rich. I wonder how much they had to pay for that coverage. I honestly would wager it's proportionally incomparable to mine, and much cheaper per dollar of coverage.

Grrrrr.....
