Is this a bad dream or a bad joke?
I'm sure most of you have heard the quotation attributed to Daniel Patrick Moynihan: "You're entitled to your own opinions, but not your own facts." I just wonder if that is still true.

There is no "Democratic tax increase" being considered" by Congress.

The "Bush tax cuts", enacted by Republicans and signed into law by George W. Bush, are about to EXPIRE---as specifically provided by the law enacted by Republicans and signed into law by George W. Bush.

Although the Republicans are damn sure aware that the Democrats are proposing to extend the tax cuts for all with income under $250,000, this hasn't stopped them from repeatedly lying, in interviews and in ads paid for by---who?---, saying that everyone's taxes will be raised and the projecting the entire tax cut out another ten years to justify calling the non-existent "tax increase" "the largest in our nation's history".

The GOP, Li'l Sarah included, have apparently decided that they can, indeed, continue to lie through their teeth with impunity. They haven't really ever been made to pay for being lying sons-o'-bitches, so why not "keep on keepin' on"?

Will we allow this?

1. "There is no "Democratic tax increase" being considered"
Even people on this site are making the argument that letting them expire is a raise.

3. It is well known, sir, that some of the "people on this site" could not find their ass with either
hand and have the intellect and discernment of a slug.

What I posted is fact. Those who contest it are either ignorant or ill-motivated.

But, you knew that.

4. Observe The Power Of The Mainstream Media - We Discuss Issues In The Language Of The Corporate Media
This is why even DU sometimes looks like a re-hash of Frank Lutz talking points against Democrats.

2. We don't matter it's the damn MSM who refuses to call the Repugs
on the outrageous lies. Chris Wallace actually did it a little which was surprising.

I think the Repugs are reaching now and they will fall over the edge with their lies.

5. many of those talking heads are the ones who will be paying more tax
I doubt many of them will do a damned thing to correct the lies being vomited out by the Quittah or her minions. We're only seeing the beginning of the braying -- when it gets to a high-pitched whine is when we'll see if the Dems have grown some spinal tissue and let them expire, or cave.
