Health Insurance Mandate up for vote in MO next week and I still don't understand
why conservatives are so much against this??? I mean, I know the basic argument of "it's unconstitutional to force people to buy something" but does that apply when the law forces hospitals to sell people something? Seems like their argument should be more with the anti-capitalist law that hospitals must treat all patients, rather than the new pro-capitalist law that people must pay for what they buy.

Like, if you word it like this it's bad, "people are forced to buy health insurance or pay a penalty"

but it's the same thing to say, "force people to pay for the health care they receive" then it's good?

I know why Dems would be against this, so I'm not looking for an argument on the actual law, but why aren't the conservatives for this??? My mind is hurting trying to get into their minds on this and even try to figure out a rational argument from their perspective.

1. It's just how Republicans are.

If the Dems say the sky is blue, the Republicans will try and say it ain't so.

3. The individual mandate...
...was the centerpiece of Republican HCR proposals, including Romney's in MA. It was a stroke of genius, it harnessed the private insurance market, and the idea of individual responsibility, to address the problem.

Right up until Democrats at the national level took it up -- only then did it become a work of Satan.
