'Bullet Found In Grijalva's Yuma Office' - Today's Yuma Sun Headline
Edited on Fri Jul-30-10 01:59 PM by Bobbieo
Im not surprised but I am very, very angry and I fear for the AZ Congressman's life. He is one of the very best in the system and his life has been threatened just because he is a liberal Hispanic who is against AZ's SB 1070.

I want nothing to do, anymore, with anyone is this town. I've been pretty well housebound since my illness began a few years ago and that is fine with me. I will be willing to bet that more than half of the members of my former Democratic club voted for McMcain in the last election. With friends like that, you sure don't need to count your enemies.

I just get livid with people on DU for gleefully pushing for people like J D Hayworth and Sarah Palin to be put on the ballot - "because they will get creamed"

For Christ's sake Morans, get a brain!!!

1. I provided a link to the newspaper article ....

Grijalva's Yuma office closed after shattered window, bullet found inside
July 29, 2010 2:44 PM

he Yuma office of Congressman Raul Grijalva closed Thursday after a shattered window and a bullet were discovered inside.

Adam Sarvana, communications director for the congressman, told the Yuma Sun that a staff member came in the back door of the Yuma office, located at 1455 S. 4th Ave., Suite 4. It was after a constituent came in, he said, that the staff was alerted to the shattered window.

The Yuma Police Department is investigating, Sarvana said, noting that a bullet was found inside the office.

When asked if the incident could be related to a federal judge's decision to remove parts of the controversial Arizona immigration law, which were slated to go into effect Thursday, Sarvana said it could be a possibility.

“It's hard not to think, based on what happened with threats to our Tucson office, that this is connected to the immigration issue, which is unfortunate,” he said.

Grijalva, who had called for convention and other visitor boycotts of Arizona to protest its immigration enforcement law, said Wednesday national groups should return their meetings to the state because a judge has put key parts of the law on hold.

2. Thank you, Spin for the additional imformation. I am very concerned for
the Hispanic voters in the forthcoming primary election next month. I'm voting absentee and wish all of them could do the same.

What has happened to our country????

3. I think most people in our nation agree with you ...
From what I read, most people have no problem with the hard working Hispanics who are in our country. This includes both legal and illegal or undocumented immigrants.

What I would like to see is a fair and rational immigration program. Couple this with the means to become citizens for those who are in our country without papers but have been here for a reasonable amount of time and have no criminal record and a record of employment.

Every worker in our country deserves the rights granted to our own citizens. We should not allow corporations and businesses to foster a new slave underclass to abuse and profit from.

The problem is that we have elected politicians who fear taking on the hard problems. They selfishly avoid taking difficult stands so that they can make a career out of keeping their seat in Congress. I've often wondered if term limits for Congress might be a good idea.

Any attempt to harass voters of any race and stop them from voting needs to be squashed quickly. If any Hispanic voters are harassed, it would be my hope that the police will intervene. The problem may unfortunately be the police.

I also vote absentee and have for many years. All qualified voters can request an absentee ballot in Florida.
