MSNBC's effort to sanitize Tweety's error is flawed !
Yesterday on "Hardball" Chris Matthews simply got the facts wrong and then turned stubborn and made a fool of himself (to put it nicely). This was on the live airing at 5:00 eastern.

For this segment Howard Dean and Joan Walsh were contributing.

Then for the 7:00 show, which is usually just a return of the earlier show, a new segment was aired in place of that segment where Tweety didn't screw up. Joan Walsh was still there but Dr. Dean was replaced by Ken Vogel.

If you go to the web site the new segment is up and the old one can't be found.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036697/#38476078

However, if you hover your cursor over the picture where you would click to see the video, a description of the segment appears. This description says that Howard Dean is in the segment.

More sloppy work from the Producers of Hardball. They can't prep their anchor on the facts of something that is going to be discussed, and has become common knowledge, and then they can't even hide the mess properly.

I wonder if the irony of editing the tape on a story about an edited tape is lost on them.

howard dean was rightfully pissed at the end of this 'interview'

matthews was an embarassment to journalism...no admission of mistake, just reshoot the entire segment

3. I think FUX does it on purpose and Tweety is just incompetent
If you think that is worse then you are right. I think otherwise.

8. No, I think they're worse because they *pretend* to be liberal
Look at all of NBC/GE and they're as right wing as Murdoch. MSNBC's evening lineup is all they have.

Fox, to their credit, is straight at you. They are conservative and that's what they show. They're not fooling anybody. MSNBC fools a lot of people.

5. My brother saw both
We got home from lunch with Howard, and I had to get to email. He went right to the TV (I don't know the broadcast times,
as I don't get American TV where I live). He said the Matthews fucked up big time, and someone must have realized it. I
haven't talked to Howard since yesterday, but I'll bet he's laughing.
