Michael Moore Is Right About Obama
Michael Moore Is Right About Obama

By Scott Galindez, Reader Supported News

http://www.readersupportednews.org/opinion/75-75/2535-michael-moore-is-right-about-obama

As I watched Michael Moore on Larry King last night, I thought back to my previous article titled "Blaming Obama Is Easy and Irresponsible."

I took a lot of flak, and was accused of being an apologist for the Obama administration, but Michael Moore said it better than I did. People on the left are right to be disappointed that Obama has not always done what we elected him to do. In my last article I addressed the things he has done, and there is no doubt that he is a better president than John McCain would have been. However, Michael Moore is right, we have to stand up and tell Obama what we want him to do.

1. I would like to be able to afford medical care
yeah, I know.. If Palin was elected I would still have the same problem, plus I would be charged for maintenance visits.

2. I can only speak for myself, but last year I wore my fingers to the nub telling
my Senators and the White House what I wanted (Single Payer, Glass-Steagall).

What I got in return was Rahm joking that I was a "fucking retard".

What more does the "movement" want from me?

9. Yeah.
I did everything in my power to tell them I wanted Single Payer/The Public Option and the restoration of Glass Steagall.

Millions of us let them know. And they ignored us. They ignored us because corporate money speaks louder than millions of citizen voices. Corporations speak with a megaphone while we speak in a whisper.

Has anything been done to rein in the influence of the corporations? Not a fucking thing that I can see. Privatization of the military continues unabated and clearly they have their sights on education and our inadequate social safety-net.

12. Oh for fuck's sake.
You give away the fact that you're biased even with the extremely short comment you make.

If you had bothered to actually read the details of that whole story, instead of the boogeyman bullshit that was being spooned out by bloggers more interested in hyping panic and FUD than facts, you would know this. Emanuel said to the left-wing interest groups like MoveOn that it was "fucking retarded" to spend their money attacking conservative Democrats over healthcare reform because then, if they voted in favor of it, then it looked to voters like they were caving to the extreme left.

3. Obama has surrounded (insulated) himself with people who have no interest in our views
His closest advisors are not liberals, and the interests they serve are not liberal.

This handwringing about the left needing to "stand up," "shout harder," "make him do it" is comically sad.

10. Comically sad is a good way to put it.
I wish I could be all wide eyed about Obama and how he will save us if we just shout loud enough.
