someone I know working in corporate-world down town Phx forwarded this "alert" from their company:
********************** Message from Downtown Phoenix Partnership regarding SB1070:
We have received word from the City of Phoenix that there may be protests and possible disruptions in downtown over the next few days relating to SB1070 taking effect. We expect to hear Judge Bolton’s ruling tomorrow on the legal challenges to 1070 – should she rule that it may go into effect, there are a number of planned protests (both pro and con), and as well as significant media coverage. At this point, most of the protests are expected to be fairly small (100-250 persons) and peaceful, although there is one tentatively planned for Thursday which may encompass as many as 1,000 protestors. This could certainly change quickly, however, and we will keep you posted with the most current information.
In the meantime, please feel free to call the Ambassador hotline at 602-495-1500 if you have any questions

I replied: "too hot to get excited in downtown isn't it?"
and they replied: "Way too hot!
And most of the “con” protesters have already moved out of state!
The “pro” protesters are generally pink, overweight and wear camouflage, so are likely to get heat stroke."
