How much do I love/admire Michael Moore? As much as I love/admire the landscape in Arizona.

He just said, casually, as he is commenting in a straight forward way on many things that we are dealing and grappling with, that in the future, as long as the "disgusting" laws in Arizona are still on the books, no new films of his will be shown in Arizona.

And yes, he also is in favor of the All-Star Games to not be held there; he supports the boycott.
(I don't know about sports, I hope I'm saying this right :))

Michael is very careful in not criticizing our President, he is in support of him, yet not all the policies and decisions.

The last word from him was:
"Vote for the Democrats".

Do yourself a favor and watch for the u-tube of the half hour interview that just happened on Larry King Live.

2. Bless you, Michael...
"Michael is very careful in not criticizing our President, he is in support of him, yet not all the policies and decisions."

No one else on "our" side has enough going for them to take his place... he's a centrist, and I'm about as far left as the chart goes... I agree with Mr. Moore. I'd feel like an idiot if I didn't support the President right now.

:patriot:

I trust some darling DUer will have posted a link to the above-referenced YouTube by the time I return in the AM.

4. Oh it will be here, I wanted to alert you to watch and now
you definitely will.

Watch for the underlying frustration as he fields and answers the (somewhat simplistic and predictable) questions.
Specifically watch for that he stays true to himself, but also to the larger cause.
Even Michael Moore has had to become a Politician of sorts in order not to go under and remain viable.

The hatred of him in the ranks of the uninformed has abated little, but is not fiery hot these days.

Today, (this just as an aside) the people of the town of Rockridge in Blazing Saddles came to mind.
All of their names were Johnson.

I think I'm going to refer to a certain sub group in our society as "the Johnsons" from now on.
Ah, heck, it made me laugh...............

11. Funny!
Our border collie is named "Howdy." We call him Howard Johnson, or Mr. Johnson, for short!

(He is no repug, however.... all our pets are leftys!)

3. I plan on watching. In California, it will be on CNN again at Nine Pm.
Of course check your local listings - I don't know how each cable company handles the time scheduling of the Larry King hour.

8. K&R
I caught only part of it, but I was happy to see him take a strong stand on immigration issues and the boycott. I'll definitely try to find a repeat showing to catch the whole interview.

9. Has any of Michael Moore's previous films been shown in Arizona?
If they have, I haven't seen them.

Oh, and by the way, the tourism numbers for AZ are up over 10% for this same period from last year. So fuck all ya boycotting weenies! :hi:

13. Yes, according to Fox News. But, go ahead, knock yourself out trying to find the data.
This, Fox claims, is their source... http://www.str.com

16. Yes, I saw Capitalism, A Love Story in
Prescott Valley before leaving the state forever, earlier this year. Now that MM won't be allowing his films to be shown there, that's one more reason I'm glad we left when we did.

Since you provided no link to your 'tourism' statement, a quick google search contradicts you, fyi. Lots of links, pretty much all saying the same thing, here's one of them:

Arizona tourism already feeling burn of immigration boycott

In Arizona, tourism is already taking a hit.

The recently passed law that allows local police to question individuals about their immigration status if the cops believe they are not in the country legally has caused a chain reaction of boycotts, canceled hotel reservations and nixed business trips.

San Francisco and St. Paul have banned public employees from traveling to Arizona on business. Los Angeles, San Diego and Oakland are considering similar actions.

......

Ben Bethel, owner of the boutique Clarendon Hotel in Phoenix, told KJZZ that customers canceled 80 room reservations - about $8,000 worth of business - in just one day last week.

Hopefully the law will be rescinded and Jan Brewer sent home as soon as possible so the people of Arizona don't have to suffer because of her stupidity much longer.

12. One of the questions from a caller was.......
is he ever going to do an expose of fox news channel and he said he didn't have to because everyone knows what they really are about already and no one believes them anyway (paraphrasing)

I don't think that can be true -- as we have mentioned here that sooooo many televisions in public places are tuned to fox and so many tea party cretins and republican douchebags watch it religiously and see those news anchors as their leaders. I just wonder why he thinks the way he does. I'd love to see him do a movie about fox.

14. There is already a very good documentary that exposes Fox News. It is called Outfoxed.
http://www.outfoxed.org/

And, of course, for your daily dose of deprogramming there is News Hounds (they watch Fox News, so you don't have to). http://www.newshounds.us/
