1. Kucinich has not only called for it but has presented bills and plans for doing so....
Good plans, actually, when anyone takes the time to read them.

2. Careful. some of the "faithful" here will tell you that Kucinich is not "mainstream."
I strongly agree with his proposals.

3. yeah well-- he's a congressman....
That's about as "mainstream" as they come, IMO. What other sort of street cred might "mainstream" require, anyway? Just being part of the noise machine?

Not directing those questions at you, of course. Just wondering about the folks who would so easily push a veteran U.S. congressman from the "mainstream" for speaking inconvenient truths to power.

4. Street cred and mainstream might be polar opposites
Not that I feel as desperate as I did during dark years of the Bush dictatorship, but too many politicians owe their careers and allegiance to corporations rather than the people. The system is corrupt to the bone.

5. The only "Street cred" that counts with the conservodems
in the White House and Congress is "Wall Street cred"
