Recycle theater

I ride the Boston 'T' (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority).

And I read the Metro (A free newspaper available to 'T' riders.

And there are recycling bins along the 'T', where you can discard the newspaper after you read it.

It makes sense, recycle the newsprint back to to the publishers to reduce paper waste.

I always drop my copy into the bins after I'm done with them. I like to conserve, what can I say.

Except that a few days ago, I watched the cleaning crews pick up the contents of the Metro recycling bins, and toss them into the garbage.

This was no accident; you actually need a special key to unlock the recycle bins to collect the contents...

So, I'm wondering. What is point of all this?

Are the recycle bins just the to appease the greens?

Are we really recycling all this crap, or are we still tossing it away, out of public view?

It makes me feel used and deceived.

You will even save on labor cost ( moving crap from the recycle bins to the trash bins).
