"She didn't dig herself out from under the bus to sit quietly in the back of it."
Today Mario Solis Marich was saying that Ms. Sherrod is a very savvy woman, and to look for her to do big things with this whole debacle. He is expecting that she will create some very big waves out of this.

I suspect he is right, and I hope she is the one to break open some big holes in the RW!

42. I don't know what her needs are, but I wonder if she knows how much support
she has from people like us.

The ugly ones managed to get her phone number and called with death threats, and that must be horrible. I wonder if she has any idea of how many of us now think very highly of her.

That is bothering me.

I once spoke with the staffer of one of the Congressional Black Caucus members, and they were getting death threats that day, and the poor staffer was beside herself. She was handling it very professionally, but it was taking a toll.

I just want her to know that we are completely behind her, and have so much respect for her.

I just want to see her more high-profile.

I guess its the selfishness in me.

As far as lawyers go, Mario was saying that her phone is probably ringing off the hook with lawyers calling, wanting to represent her!

We need to wish her great strength right now...... this all has to be very wearing and it came on so suddenly.

16. She's poised to make history by having this Administration
reinstate the Fairness Doctrine, with modern day differences put in of course. If she can just get rules and regulations for radio and TV that will be a major accomplishment. That would be the end of Rush, Hannity, Beck and the rest of the liars. Now, I don't really expect this to happen, but it sure would be nice. Go, Shirley - let them know who they messed with.

17. Yes, indeed that....but I also think she will shine a much-needed light on the true issue... poverty
She has made a start on that, and I think she will cause people to become more aware of the true nature of this society where class is concerned.

It can't come too soon!

41. That is so much the point -- poverty . . . .
But whatever the racism, sexism, or homophobia -- it's always about exploitation --

based on myths of inferiority.

That exploitation benefits the few and creates our "outcasts" -- and poverty --

20. She does have a brilliant way of cutting through the obfuscation, doesn't she?
She is very plain-spoken.... doesn't use a lot of words, and the words she uses are not fancy.

Yet, she brilliantly cuts right through to the crux of the matter.

34. :) Anyone sincere saw she was an honourable person once she
answered a couple of questions. Yes she has a quality that she's unafraid of answering a question - no matter who the truth hurts - in a disarmingly down-to-earth and 'normal' way. A good antidote to the dizzy media!

35. ah, that's it. When asked a question, she doesn't hesitate, looking for a "frame"...
she isn't fumbling and squirming... she isn't reading her hand...

She answers, simply, straightforwardly, and directly.

Probably much too directly for some. :)

She could be giving lessons to some politicians. :)

is much less than what she can accomplish, if given the chance.

She is in the position to do much for class injustice and race awareness.
