1. Actors, directors, and producers work based on their talent levels..not their political beliefs
It is still a free country.

There are many conservatives in Hollywood, and I think an equal or greater number who don't give a damn. Noted Hollywood conservatives include Walt Disney. I wonder what he'd think of his studio today?

4. He's a pretty good actor but he sure didn't have to act much in
24. He played the wackjob boss of a Blackwater like contractor.
Several years ago I remember laughing at Bo Derek. She was claiming she was blackballed because of her conservative politics. She was still beautiful and still a crappy actor but no longer a "10".

5. Because they are so liberal.
There are quite a few righties in Hollywood and they are judged by their talent not their politics. That is the liberal way. Unfortunately, the righties don't seem to like to reciprocate.

7. I think Jon Voight generally makes good movies
I go to movies for entertainment. Voight is an asshole and I don't want to go out for a beer with him. But if he makes a good movie, I'll go see it. It's like, If my toilet is clogged up, i want a good plumber to come and fix it. I don't really care about his politics or personality. I just want him to do his job and make the shit go away.

8. Holly wood has been taken over by bean counters and accountants
Most of whom vote conservative.

There aren't enough big actors to influence anything. Besides, most actors are so highly overpaid, getting involved in politics is pointless.

Nobody pays attention to the Screen Actor's Guild anymore, but they used to provide a valuable service to starving actors who got famous.
