Jury duty suck
I was summoned for jury duty. I was pretty excited about it. I wasn't big on waking up at 7 am this morning but oh well.

In any case, I was pretty shocked to see FOX/FAUX NEWS on the two big screen tvs in the jury lounge.

I would think something like CNN would be more appropriate and less biased.

I hate I was excused for jury duty. I was looking forward to the extra $$ in my pocket.

1. So much for a "jury of one's peers."
I was pretty shocked to see FOX/FAUX NEWS on the two big screen tvs in the jury lounge.

I shudder to think I might be on trial someday with a jury of FOX News viewers...:scared:

6. I worry about that too.
I have a personal injury case coming up and it will be taking place in MN District 6 - home of M Bachmann. I don't think I will get anything close to a rational outcome.

11. Good luck!!!
I served on jury duty once about 22 years ago. It was a child-neglect case.

During deliberations, some guy kept saying, "He's guilty! I know his type!"

And the No. 1 concern was reaching a verdict before rush hour so the jurors could get home without getting snarled in traffic...

What an eye-opening experience!

2. Anytime you see Faux Noise on a TV protest and complain.
Every time I'm in a bank or restaurant I complain to have it removed. I've had great success in having businesses change the channel. I've also written mini-commentaries on receipts so managers will read my protests. I tell them if they want my business they will have to change their channels and take Faux off. I urge everyone to do the same. No one should be exposed to the lies, deceptions, fear and racism constantly being aired on that evil network.

3. My mom changed doctors because of Faux on the waiting room TV.
Then she asked me to tell the doc why when I took in some form or another.

5. I was called for Jury duty last week and this.
Not that I've gotten to serve. I get a call every night at 6:00 telling me whether or not to show up the next day.

So far the only day I've had to show up was the day I had a previously made appointment, which I had to reschedule.

The one day I was there, the jury lounge that we all hung out in waiting to be called in to court for selection (or, in my case, non-selection, lol) had numerous big screens around the big room.

They were tuned in to HGTV. I got to watch people having their houses remodeled or "refurbished" to help them sell, and people looking at houses to buy.

I wasn't impressed with the taste of the remodelers, for the most part, and I was really glad not to be the real estate agent trying to sell a condo to the couple with the impossible wife.

9. It may well be that in the room wherein the teevee was located, it
is permitted to read.

Otherwise, there would likely be no teevee.

10. I do too, but it's hard to read with that constant yakky drone and sfx in the background.
There shouldn't be TVs at all in waiting areas. Or at least areas without them.

13. I didn't watch it.
I hate I forgot my headphones for my iPod.
I didn't even think about bringing a book in. I had to be there by 8 and it was a mad dash to get ready.

12. Whenever I've gone for jury duty, almost all the potential jurors were white.
That always amazed me! This was at the courthouse in Cambridge, MA, a very diverse city. I know it's a county courthouse, which extends to many suburbs, but in that whole area there are more than one or two African Americans.
