Fiorina spokesman: it only makes sense for Carly to have two yachts
Sen. Barbara Boxer has fired a shot across the bow of Carly Fiorina - in the hopes that her Republican rival's ownership of a pair of yachts might sink her with voters.

Boxer has taken to comparing her years of "public service" to Fiorina's choice "to become a CEO, lay off 30,000 workers, ship jobs overseas (and) have two yachts."

Fiorina's 70-foot Alchemy V, a 2001 Dyna Craft valued for tax purposes at just over $1 million, is moored in Sausalito.

Her 56-foot Sea Ray yacht, the 3-year-old Alchemy VI, is docked on the Potomac in Washington, D.C. - not far from the Georgetown condo that Fiorina and her husband own.

Fiorina spokeswoman Julie Soderlund said it makes sense for the Fiorinas to be a two-yacht family, given that the boat-loving couple have divided their time between California and D.C., near where their grandchildren live.

Anyway, Soderlund said, "it's ironic that Barbara Boxer, who has millions herself, would take this line of attack - it's not exactly like she's living off food stamps."

1. Only two?
What if they get stuck in a layover in Chicago or Houston? Shouldn't the Fiorinas have yachts on Lake Michigan and in the Gulf of Mexico, too? They might have to go for hours, even a day or more without access to a yacht! Won't someone please think of the Fiorina children!

5. Well hell, they should have jets in each city so they can just bypass
those delays.

19. Yeah, but Boxer's not rich compared to Fiorina.
That's how stratospherically wealthy Fiorina is.

4. "...it's not exactly like she's living off food stamps." No, but millions
of people are, and those are the ones Boxer is trying to help.

I'm glad Boxer is hammering on the 30,000 layoffs, too.

I absolutely loathe Fiorina. :puke:

11. Having only one yacht is so yesterday

All Barbara has to do is show that clip over and over. That clip shows the real snooty Fiorina.

12. "Living off food stamps????"
Wow... that is a truly disgusting statement. I was at one time "living off food stamps," and indeed at helped keep me from being hungry as I was out looking for a job. If Fiorina thinks food stamps are so bad, she should come out and say she wants to abolish the program.

I really do wish they'd be forthcoming and say what they want - abolish the minimum wage, criminalize abortion, abolish OSHA, end Social Security, for instance.

18. She will, and that's what I like about her.
She's ideologically sharp and aggressive. She knows that we cannot win unless we remain on the offensive ideologically. "Pragmatism," "third way," and "bipartisanship" are codewords for surrender to the enemy.

13. Ms. Boxer, one tiny comment: "...choice to become possibly the WORST CEO in history."
One who took an astonishingly successful garage start-up with thousands of happy employees and ran it right into the ground while shipping those happy employees jobs to India.

My loathing for Fiorina knows no bounds.

14. Barbara Boxer net worth is about 1.7million, which inculdes her house, and assets
So Barbara's net worth is equal to Fiorina's two yachts. They aren't even in anywhere comparable income or net worth ranges. Saying the only person who can complain about two yachts are cat food eater is pretty lame response.

17. 1.7 million is beyond comfortable, but hardly stinking rich. And she hasn't
run an otherwise incredibly successful company into the ground.

I used to. It was about 4"x4"x2" and could make it half way across the tub with one push!.

21. In this year of anti-establishmentism, Fiorina just admitted that she is a member of ...

... the DC establishment.

She may have just surrendered her non-incumbent advantage.
