California Highway Patrol officers prevent another Jim Adkisson from going on a murder spree

A fierce gunfight between a cadre of CHP officers and a heavily armed felon with anti-government beliefs ended with the man in the hospital and some lanes on Interstate 580 closed for most of Sunday.

The Tuolumne County man, identified as 45-year-old Byron Williams, was wearing body armor and armed with a high-powered hunting rifle, a pistol and a shotgun. He had a three-ring binder, recovered from the truck he was driving by a bomb squad robot, with the word "California" scrawled across its cover.

Police said they believed the gunfight put an end to what might have been a desperate mission by a man who hated left-wing causes and faced his third strike.

"There is no doubt in our mind, given the body armor and the extensive amount of ammunition he had, that he was on his way to do a very serious crime against either someone or a group of people," CHP Sgt. Trent Cross said.

It's a shame there are people like this among us. This deranged idiot figures he can't get a job so why not just fucking kill a bunch of people? Criminals don't like having to deal with the consequences of their crimes. They go to prison or jail and blame society for their problems when THEY are the problem. I mean before you hit the Pacific Ocean. San Francisco. I mean he could have stopped in Oakland and killed black people but conservatives are not racists. At least that is what I have been hearing.

I have heard people here where I live say very hateful things towards Nancy Pelosi and what they wish would happen to her. When I ask why they hate her their answer is she is a rich left-wing liberal. I then ask um are most right wing politicians rich? What's the difference?

Back to this guy, this guy is a felon has the question been asked yet of how he came into all of the weapons he had in his possesion. Get to the root of that question and you will find hundreds of thousands of others like him. I am of the belief weapons are being given to these type of people hoping that they attack liberals.

The catalyst that got WWI kicked into gear was the assasination on 28 June 1914 of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, the heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary. Of course there were other factors but he was shot to death.

I believe the Right want something like this to happen in this country, they want one of their brain dead idiots to take out groups of people to start something in this country. 7. It is sad that the Right Wing feeds this man's sort of madness

I believe law enforcement will be soon be faced with more and more people crossing that fine line into delirious violence, fed and incited by Savage, Coulter, Beck, Limbaugh, and all media who do not condemn the same.

Maybe then cops will see that we liberals back up law enforcement when it comes to stopping the violent fundamentalists who threaten cops.
