howdy all how are you?well i hope.if you know me from here, you may know that mrs.g8r is a womens health/ob/gyn nurse practitioner, and that about a year and a half ago, she opened her own clinic. she had been a midwife since proudly graduating THE university of floridas excellent program.while missing the emotional payoff involved in midwifery, she was burned out, trying to keep a 3 midwife practice running by herself after a series of tragedies. she just wanted a quiet practice with regular hours and the kind of care she had been taught that every person deserves. some backstory we met when i stopped at a friends house to play cards in 1975 and she was 15 i was every minute of 19 we hit it off quite well up to and including now. when she said she wanted to take everything we had gathered in all that time and open her clinic my only question was"how long do you think you can go without a delivery?"to which she had no answer so we took it all, the house, the boat, the cars, the insurance,my 1966 triumph bike, all the reassuring detrius of our lives and slid it onto the table. if you do the date math you can see that we picked a really crap time to start a business but slowly it built she provides the best care there is. your visit is scheduled for 1 hour and except for getting weighed every minute is spent with the provider. she has saturday hours and 2 days a week when the office is opened until 8 pm her clinic treats the woman as a person and for some strange reason the word got around this year she added weight management in partnership with local gyms for her patients no drugs just workouts and a long term view she has added the practice of a dr of physical therapy this month to hers to provide her patients with bladder control issues and she has added another nurse/midwife to the practice allowing my wife to take a part time offer she had from a nearby practice to provide midwiferey services as back up and once again deliver babies her one true true love so in 3 months she went from crying over stupidly blowing everything (i said this could not happen) to being the owner operator of one of our areas most responsive and respected womens health clinics(i said this would happen) and she gets to catch new gators thats right gators baby every baby she has delivered since the early 1990s has heard as its fist words post utero "You Go Gator!"
