And here's a link to an audio clip of a death threat the NAACP received after the passing of this week's resolution to encourage Tea Party leaders to repudiate racism within their ranks, the NAACP received a number of nasty responses. Perhaps none, however, was more chilling than the following voice message left at the NAACP's Hollywood Bureau.

organizations straight or can't distinguish between the "New Black Panthers" and the NAACP. Steady allowing the right wing machine to distract from who the real enemy is. SMDH.

2. Holy $#!% !! How can white people be so stupid?

I mean really! Where is the common sense of an educated people in these crowds? It doesn't exist for those people who make those signs. I want to disassociate with them and stay as far away as possible from them. As a white person descended from European immigrants, I am highly offended by these people. They look like ordinary people until they put out their signs and parade their ignorance for the world to see. Then they become idiotic clowns. They are the good ol' USA dumbed down to the hilt.

6. Whom ever sent this doesn't have to worry

the FBI never catches anybody but those who threaten republicans. They still haven't gotten the person who tried to blow up that house in Virginia. AND somebody ought to send a link to that video to Hannity you know like he never saw any racist signs?? Maybe we should send that statement to Ripley's Believe it or NOT.

7. Doesn't Matter...The Right Wing In Full Denial...

The rushpublicans are so ingrained with racism they now see it through the looking glass. It's a game where if you call them on their blatant and obvious racism then you are the racist for pointing it out. You have to be because you're the one who brought it up...we are just supposed to let these dogwhistles go un-noticed since they weren't for our eyes and ears in the first place. Thus if you're a racist among racists, you're not a racist, you're just "expressing yourself"...cause everyone else around you also thinks the same way.

This game goes even further as the hate radio crowd, led by El Rushbo, have spent the past decade trying to reframe what racism is about. In their perverted view it's the Democrats and "libs" who are the exploiters and have somehow brainwashed minorities into a "plantation" mentality and thus when the NAACP speaks out its not really them, its some nefarious leftist plot.

While its a shame that these slurs are still a part of our national "dialogue" it also serves an important reminder of who and where this hatred originates from...and how far we still have to go in our own civil rights matters...be it black, hispanic, GLBT or many other groups who add to the diversity and vitality of this nation.
