I honestly think it is time for Obama to resign.......
....himself to the fact that the GOP is beyond trying to work with!!

They will be the party of NO until 2010! So I hope he does not try to appease them any longer!!

2. I wish he would quit giving in to them with the compromises but as to
reaching out to them with each issue - lets the American people know just of obstructive they are. I do not think the people will forget come election time.

3. The GOP will be the party of No until the 12th of never, and that's a long long time...

But he still needs to try. The party of No and right of center Democrats can stop any bill. Without appealing to more conservative Democrats and the less Conservative Republicans it is not possible to pass anything, and you can see a list of progressive achievements completed in the face of Republican and (right of center) Democratic obstructionism.

So until we have a single party nation where everyone dresses only to the left, it will be necessary to work with the other side to get things done.

This was true with the 1957 Civil Rights act, which did almost nothing.
This was true with the 1960 Civil Rights act, which did only a little more.
This was true of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which was an incredible break though that would not have happened without those previous two acts, and a lot of small steps by progressives willing to take the long view.

5. Except he's had some cross-aisle cooperation on everything but HCR
Hell, Nelson (D) was a bigger problem for financial regulation than Snowe was.
