Glitches deepen drawdown pain for some

Air Force drawdown efforts are hitting rough times.

Officer separation payments must be processed by hand because computer systems can’t handle the requests.

Lieutenants threatened with having to repay as much as $137,000 of their tuition are appealing the Air Force Personnel Center decisions.

And colonels must wait a month longer to learn if they will be forced into early retirement.

“It doesn’t seem the way to treat the Air Force family,” said 1st Lt. Chris Weston, one of the Air Force Academy graduates who were told they owe the service tens of thousands of dollars because they will be separated without a tuition waiver.

unhappycamper comment: Way to go Air Force Personnel Center!

I would be extremely unhappy if the Air Force told me I owe them $137,000 for serving my country.

Or are the just replecing these people with "civilian" contractors? Demanding money from people they riff sounds ugly.

about? Many, if not most, of his detractors seem to think that he is 'all-knowing', and has direct control of everything.

Where is the pony I've been expecting?

Edited to add this was :sarcasm:

I don't expect PresBo to know every little detail about surveys, military personnel pay, etc. There isn't enough time in the day for every little tidbit to pass his desk.
