Sadly gay men can be as big of pigs as straights
http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2010/07/14/stephen-fry-reportedly-splits-with-partner/

Gay broadcaster and writer Stephen Fry has reportedly split up with his partner of 14 years.

The 52-year-old QI host is said to have moved out of the £2 million north London home he shared with Daniel Cohen, 40.

According to the Daily Mail, Fry has promised Cohen the proceeds of the sale of the house if he signs a confidentiality agreement.

Fry is said to have begun a new relationship with 26-year-old actor Steven Webb, who appeared in Alan Bennett's play The History Boys at the National Theatre.

end of quote

Stephen Fry is a great actor and author but husband, evidently not so much.

1. Straight or gay, male or female has nothing to do with cheaters.
You're either cut out for a relationship or not. Maybe in the short term we all like relationships. Maybe some of us like in the medium term. In the long term...not so much.

2. Stephen Fry is a human being. Everything else is superfluous.
As a human being, he is subject to human foibles.

12. i specifically didnt do the "human" thing because cheating.... nah. a choice
and more than not arent going to cheat for anything.

i hear on more cheating threads (and i am not talking about your post) that anyone might do this. not true. dont give it to me. people say, you dont know. but i do know. and many of us know.... no way in hell we will cheat.

14. Of course it's a choice to cheat.
But being gay or straight or whatever doesn't make you any more or less likely to make that choice, I think. That's what I meant.

Some people cheat. Some don't. I don't, although I did, once, many years ago. It was not a good decision, so I never made it again.

20. I must have missed the part where it said he cheated.?!
As I'm reading it, he ended one relationship and started another. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with that. Nobody should ever be stuck in a relationship they don't want to be in.

3. As far as I've been able to determine, there aren't many differences between...
...gay men and straight men, and between gay women and straight women. There is a much more pronounced difference between women and men than between gay and straight of either gender.

OF COURSE gay men are sometimes pigs, just like straight men. Why wouldn't they be?

8. The thing that makes him a pig is that he "fell in love" with someone
half his age. Just like the hetero males who have enough money to buy a young thing.

9. Ah so it is easier to assume he is a pig than he fell in love...
I am glad that our collective hearts are so open.

18. My opinion, if it sounds like a pig, and smells like a pig...
I guess as an older woman who has seen my share of men going for the young women who have not lived through so much of life, I am a tad bitter. I also think that "love" is over-rated.

this thread would be a 400 post flamefest had a straight poster suggested straights were better at anything than gays.

22. So let us say that that guy he broke up with was the cheater, then what?
Who's the pig and how do you know? They could have been on the rocks for some time or even separated. How can you know what transpired prior to the day of reckoning?

23. I was expecting to read he cheated his partner out of his half of the assets.
If he didn't, everybody should STFU. But won't, because being judgmental is worse than heroin.
