Progressive Resources Needed
I have finally arrived at a point where I feel I need to get more involved in the direction that our President is taking us. While I believe that he has accomplished many important things for our country under a very difficult environment, I remain disappointed in so many other areas. I proudly voted for Mr. Obama. However, many of the actions that I wish he would have taken upon entering office have either been ignored or have ended up aligned with the Right.

My question to you is this:

Is there any kind of organized gathering or resource which would allow me to become more actively involved in influencing the direction the current Administration is taking?

1. yes there are groups, not as strong as they could be but,
Democrats for America, MoveOn.org to mention two. They are doing good work but they could use more strong members. Good for you. Too many just thing griping and bashing will do it but getting active in groups like the aforementioned and trying to get this admin. to hear a big united voice is far more effective and likely to get something done. I like you have disappointments but I realize that Obama is not a dictator and has to work within a system that includes a Senate that just sits on bills and tries to stop things. When we forget those things we aren't being reality based and being like the right wingers wants; quitters. The better way is to follow your example and unite. I salute you.

2. Also
check for meet up meetings in your area or be brave and start your own group. I think Media Matters are the people who have the meet up meetings.

3. I Just Feel...
that I can bitch on this board and get nowhere. Or I can get active again. Even if it does no good, I can at least look myself in the mirror knowing I tried.

Thanks for the info. Appreciate it.
