Poll question: Forget how you feel about Harry Reid. Was he right?
Should President Obama be more confrontational toward the Republican minority?

1. How about putting your money where your mouth is, Harry?
:(

2. yup
but his comments beg the question whether Obama's timidity is a characteristic, or a planned affectation to achieve the results that are unfolding.

3. Technically, he's right.
It's just that he's got no room to talk. If Harry had a goddamn spine, he would get progressive legislation passed, and that would leave Obama with nothing to do but sign the shit.

4. Agreed, but that's a separate poll.
That's why I requested responders to put aside their feelings about Reid.

8. I didn't vote, here's why
the vote should be about Reid not Obama. Reid is a do nothing democrat. What happened to all the bills that went to the Senate from the Congress. Don't tell me, they are just sitting there. Harry is waiting for someone to take the heat - no backbone. I guess it is all Obama's fault. Dang dog here just left a little poop out of her box, but I blame Obama for that though.

12. I'm sorry you disapprove of the question. Next time I'll check with you first.
In the mean time, feel free to initiate your own poll.

18. Ahhhh, c'mon, what's a little snark among DUers?

Please jump in whenever you feel like it. (My point was that I specifically asked people to put aside their feelings about Reid because I did not want the thread to turn into a referendum on Harry.)

on edit: Welcome to DU!

5. I'd like to see both of them be more confrontational toward the Pugs...
But, if they do that, then we should be prepared to protect their backs, as you know what they'll call Obama. Uppity. He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

I still stand behind Obama 100%.

10. can I vote both ways?
Yes Obama should and yes Reid is less than honest in not admitting he is even more guilty. Reid had his chance to do so at another time that would have been far more helpful than when he is in a fight for his own job that he has cowered to republicans in so bad. It is like the kid who said Johnny stole the bubble gum and should stop it while having a pocket full of gum he stole himself.

13. Yes
However, Obama knows that if Pelosi and Reid are already to cave, he won't get far. Congress failed to act like Congress, and none of Reid's attempts to blame Obama will hide that fact.

14. Yes he was right, but the same goes for HARRY! He should have taled directly
to the President about his feelings, but NOT in public. Sorry, that's just too much transparency!

15. Damn, the unrec faries have been all over this like stupid on Glenn Beck!
I'm curious about what's to fault with a simple, fairly worded, yes or no question.

17. The Dems in DC need to grow some balls tute suite.
Edited on Tue Jul-13-10 06:31 PM by ChimpersMcSmirkers
The pukes keep throwing ball after ball over the plate. It seems like Congress and the President are just looking to walk. If they are going to warn us that the House is in jeopardy then they sure as hell need to lead the charge.

20. Damn right he should.

They have no conscience and they have no moral ethics. There is no point in regarding them as if they were otherwise.

Didn't we learn anything when their side had all the power during the corrupt and evil BushCo Regime?
