Another disgusting billboard from the tea partiers.

A new billboard in downtown Mason City features a photo of President Obama, flanked by pictures of German dictator Adolph Hitler and Communist leader Vladimir Lenin.

The billboard features phrases like “Live Free or Die” and “Radical leaders prey on the fearful and naive.”

It’s the same spot where a billboard last fall featured the phrase “Obama-Nation, Live Free or Die” with the Communist symbol of a hammer and sickle. The billboards were paid for by the North Iowa Tea Party.

John White, state coordinator of the Iowa Tea Party movement, says the new billboard crosses a dangerous line. He says it’s going somewhere the Tea Party doesn’t need to go.

1. People who remain associated with the tea Party when it does things like this ...
... really can't claim lack of awareness. If you're not aware of the billboards your party is posting, then you have no business claiming to support the party. And this is not far from some of their other atrocious actions.

5. He is a communist or nazi?
It's not possible to be both. Besides, Grover Norquist keeps Lenin's picture in his office because he admires how he overthrew the government in Russia by force and the Republicans are corporatist in the fascist model of Hitler and Mussolini.

6. Why are they so afraid of socialism?
It is the socialism they don't acknowledge that makes their lives so easy. Streets, water, law enforcement, fire protection, etc.

Most could not survive in their idea of utopia. No taxes, no socialism, little or no government.

9. I Never Understood That Fear
I mean, I have never lived under another system, so maybe my opinion isn't worth much. But when I think about the kind of "socialism" that even liberal Democrats in this country want, I don't think of the Nazis, the Soviets or the Chinese. I think of the democracies of Western Europe and of our northern neighbor (Canada). Even if you believe that the American system is overall the best, Germany, the Netherlands, France, etc. are hardly nightmare dystopias. Even conceding the point that our system is better doesn't mean we can't learn something from our Cold War era NATO allies.

11. Because they have no clue what it is.
They have no idea that Social Security, Medicare, government regulation of banks, anti-trust laws, child labor laws, and virtually every consumer protection on the books is 'socialism'.

They think it's an evil plot to take their money and give it to poor, lazy minorities.

7. Well, they're right about one thing...
"Radical leaders prey on the fearful & naive".

The Republicans prove it every election cycle.
