Came across this today, and thought it was something we all might consider.
Perhaps it should be carved in the walls of Congress.

"The most shocking fact about war is that its victims and its instruments are individual human beings, and that these individual beings are condemned by the monstrous conventions of politics to murder or be murdered in quarrels not their own":

Aldous Huxley - English novelist and critic, 1894-1963

2. "Armaments, universal debt, and planned obsolescence
"Armaments, universal debt, and planned obsolescence -
those are the three pillars of Western prosperity.
If war, waste, and moneylenders were abolished, you'd collapse.
And while you people are overconsuming the rest of the world sink
s more and more deeply into chronic disaster."

— Aldous Huxley (Island)

One of my favorite books and it was his last one, he had an evil oil company screw up a paradise.

5. If we must have war,
it should be hand-to-hand combat. No more of this 'collateral damage.' Today most of the deaths in a war are women, children, and elderly.

And a weapon of war is rape of women and children. No wonder these 'patriots' return from war all f*cked up. They're committing acts of cruelty and horror. I don't understand why people enlist in the military. I just don't get it. I guess if you're stuck in poverty, it is a way to get out. But you are just a number in the military. You lose all freedoms and rights.

I just don't get it.

Let the leaders of the country fight it out...hand-to-hand battle. We could sell tickets and balance the budget! It could be a big

7. Brilliant idea. Let the leader of each country be out there on the battlefield

putting their own life on the line instead of sending everyone else's children out there.

That is the way it was done in the more "primitive" times.

8. Decades ago there
was actually a Public Service Announcement (PSA...guess we don't have those anymore since it was FREE air time and the Media boyz can't stand that) that showed 2 old men in a boxing ring jabbing at each other. They were the leaders of their countries.

I have never forgotten that PSA. It made so much sense to me. This must have been in the '60's. Wow, can you imagine a PSA like that now???

No wonder John Lennon was murdered.

I need to snap out of this funk. A ride in the country is in order for later today.
