Slackers, take heart! Perfectionists more likely to die earlier: study
Don’t work too hard! Perfectionists have an increased risk of premature death, according to research reported in LiveScience.com (via Msnbc.com).

While trying to be perfect can also have health benefits, the mental stress for perfectionists when things don’t go as planned and their unwillingness to ask others for help can add up to problems.

“Perfectionism is a virtue to be extolled definitely,” Trinity Western University psychology professor Prem Fry told LiveScience.com. “But beyond a certain threshold, it backfires and becomes an impediment.”

-----

When Fry and her colleagues examined the relationship between perfectionism and the risk of death, they found that those with high perfectionism scores ran a 51% increased risk of earlier death as compared to volunteers who had low perfectionism scores. The researchers theorize that high levels of anxiety and stress – common in perfectionists - may contribute to a reduced lifespan.

Our Type B brethren may live longer but their quality of life will be less than ideal, if our elected corporatist *leaders* have their way (and they will, never doubt it).

3. I've always said...
...Type A people may get more stuff done in a shorter time, but Type B people live longer and therefore have more time to get stuff done.

Of course you may surmise from the above rationalization that I'm more of a Type B, myself. :-)

4. I knew it!
HA!

I am really just conserving my lifeforce and biding my time so that I can make 'more' of an impact, rather than wasting my time on all those damn details! my sister may have a cleaner bathroom floor, but I play with my kids more!
