Remind me to never set foot on their beaches or in their town. Not very friendly. Political differences is one thing but racial hatred is another.

1. Most of Florida, with some exceptions,
is Teabagger Central. Unfriendly to MO, absolutely. This state is hostile to all but RW whackjobs.

2. I didnt see anything racist on the first link
I didnt go to the second link and only looked at the first page of the first link. But, You can tell some people dont like RO.

Dont blame a community on the words of a few individuals. And if you think that was racist, we are really gonna have a problem. People just saying " Racist " for the hell of it is making everyone else tone deaf to the word. Leave it for when its really needed.

4. When I saw folks driving around waving the stars and bars from the back of pickups down there
All I can say is that I'm sure that the comments about Mrs. Obama are pretty typical of the region.

6. First of all, who is RO?
Second of all, it's clear that they don't like Obama, but it's also clear that a great proportion of their dislike comes from racism. If you didn't see any racism there, it means you're trying very hard not to look.

11. Did you check the comments or are you just content to act as though
the racist fuckery just isn't there?

You're not tone deaf because some people are yelling "racist" for the hell of it, which of course is a meme racists put out so lessen the chances of them being called out on their racism and as is the case with a lot of memes it's complete bullshit, you're tone deaf because you absolutely refuse to see what is right in front of your face. Of course I suppose it's easy to do when its other people being degraded. You sure piped up quick when someone called out the racists.

So typical, for there's so much suffering in being called a racist that it is worse to be called one than to actually BE one.

12. That's really sad
You don't agree with posters on a comment section of an article, so you make sweeping generalizations about a whole region. Please don't come, we don't need closed-minded visitors such as yourself. Folks on the Florida Panhandle are dealing with an unprecedented disaster. My partner and I are making plans to go into bankruptcy and relocate as soon as it becomes clear that the relief wells won't work. Families' livelihoods have been destroyed, part of our nation's culture and history have been forever changed. And you're worried about some people you don't agree with in a comments section. Sad for you.

14. Her constituency is over a thousand miles away.

Her only reason for being there was to stir up hate and divisiveness. She found what she was looking for.

She can keep her ignorant hatemongering ass away as far as I'm concerned.

15. LOLZ
Someone from Georgia getting riled up about racism in a different city.....sheesh

I understand your OP, however look at removing the plank in the eye of Georgia before pointing out the splinter in Panama City.

Do you ever go to Marietta or Cartersville? How about Stone Mountain?

16. being from GA
I've seen real racism. Why don't you drive out of your white suburbia and you might see some too. The way " racist " is thrown around now. Your either KKK or New black panther. Could it be that someone doesn't like someone because of politics.

22. Your Point being???
I was not addressing you...I was addressing the OP's statement that they would never step foot on Panama City beaches due to perceived racism. Then I pointed out that she is from Atlanta (I am from Rome, GA) and there is a high level of racist behavior there.

So...I do not think that we have a disagreement here. I agree that the cry of 'racism' is being overly used to squash dissent against President Obama. A white person can disagree with a black person and not be racism. However, to some on this board - that is impossible.

As for 'White Suburbia' - LOLZ....I live in Prince Georges County, MD.

Thanks for stopping by...

19. I didn't realize Panama City had turned red.... Hopefully the communist menace can be contained
before it strikes the heart of the I-4 corridor otherwise we could lose all of Florida.
