There are people in this country who think that Palin should be our next president
Edited on Mon Jul-12-10 07:37 PM by MrScorpio
I wonder if these people are just plain crazy, plain stupid or some messed up combination of both.

This persistent 24% nutjob margin is unsustainable if we're to survive as a nation, don't ya think?.

By, the way. I'm not talking about Michael Palin, who is ineligible to be President of the United States. I'm talking about the other Palin.

7. Nah. It's inevitable
If human intelligence lies along a bell curve, half the population is not processing information very effectively.

2. Well if he was eligible, he would make a far better President.
As for the other, it boggles my mind, it truly does. Scary really that these people hold down jobs, yet are so utterly clueless.

4. well there are always going to be 24% people who are stupid, much less intelligent than average
i don't know what to tell you, that is life, dan quayle himself said that 50% of the population has an IQ of less than 100...and he should know!

timothy leary used to talk abt "intelligence increase" being required to save our species, but we don't look to increase intelligence any longer, we've given up on expanding our minds/intelligence -- it has become an untouchable topic because, again, there are too many stupid people and stupid people are threatened by any thought of a new generation of smarter people coming up and making them look silly

5. Hee hee hee, ha ha ha. OMG, that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.
But I realize there really are people who want her to be president. As for me, I have threatened this before, but this time I promise, I will leave the country if she is ever president.

6. If we had 8 years of Bush, we can have 8 years of Palin.
Never underestimate the stupidity of the American people.

9. Unfortunately, while cream may rise to the top. . .so does scum.
In one of his more recent essays, Joe Bageant sums up the sorry spectacle:

http://www.joebageant.com/joe/2010/06/live-from-planet-norte.html

(snip)
While it is a myth that virtually anybody can grow up to be president, we have demonstrated that nitwits have more than a fighting chance. During my 40 years writing media ass-wipe for the public, I have interviewed many of "The best of my generation", and believe me; most of them were not much.

Naturally, they believe they are far superior by virtue of having made it to an elevated point in the gilded cage, closer to the feed, water and sex. Because they believe it, and the media echoes their belief, hovering and quoting them, discussing their every brain fart, we tend to believe it too. Nothing shakes our belief, not even staring directly into the face of a congenital liar and nitwit like Sarah Palin, or a careening set of brainless balls like Donald Trump or a retarded jackal like George W. Bush. Americans are unable to explain why such people "rise to the top" in our country. We just accept that they do, and assume that America's process of natural selection -- survival of the wealthiest -- is at work. These people are rich; therefore, they should run the country. God said so. It's a uniquely American principal of governance, which in itself, makes the case for our stupidity.
