Apparently, even a downturn won't stop the UK from recognizing its history:)

A visitor walks on the grass in front of Hadlow Tower on July 7, 2010 near Tonbridge in England. English Heritage have today released details of historic properties in the South East of England that are now listed on this year's At Risk Register. The Register reveals that the economic slow down is having an impact on progress in dealing with neglected or decaying nationally important historic sites. Hadlow Tower is a Grade I listed building and is the most spectacular part of what remains of the early 19th century Hadlow Castle in Kent. The Tower is the tallest surviving Gothic Revival folly in England. Badly damaged in the 1987 storms it was compulsory purchased in 2006. Plans for the Tower to be restored and brought back into use as a holiday property have been developed.
