KETV Omaha - Couple Devotes Free Time To At-Risk Children
Teacher, Former Nurse Passionate About Serving Others

It smells like sweat. It looks like a gym, flanked with boxing posters and gloves. It’s a garage turned boxing club in north Omaha and it’s changing lives one child at a time.

“Sometimes in life you get a road you can choose to follow and this presented itself,” said Mike Lemek, who founded the Pop’s Boxing Club in his backyard five years ago with his wife, Beth.

On any given night, teenagers file into the club to work out, visit, and meet their friends, each session supervised by the Lemeks.
