To see where I live, go to google maps and enter 'Wolf Bay, AL'. Drag the map north till you see 'Moccasin Bayou'. We're on that roundish point of land just to the left (west) of Moccasin Bayou on the western shore of the bay.
Took a bay tour today. Where the bay narrows towards the ICW there's a row of triple boom. A mile or so farther south there's a single row.
Both booms have an open area for boat traffic, but no large buoys or lights at the margins of gate entrances. The triple boom is fairly visible , but the single boom isn't until you're quite close. At night it would be invisible.
Much of the virgin (never populated) shoreline is boomed, almost onshore, but what good that would do I have no idea.
I still don't think we'll get oil up in Wolf Bay. There are five creeks entering the bay from the north and they generally keep the current flowing south towards the ICW. There is some tidal flow, but I don't think enough to get oil up here from the ICW, IF oil ever does even get into the ICW*.
