Arizona Corporation Commission candidate wants to cut power to undocumented immigrants
Barry Wong REALLY wants to win the GOP primary.

"I'm sure there will be criticism about human-rights violations," Wong said of his utility proposal. "Is power or natural gas or any type of utility we regulate, is that a right that people have? It is not a right. It is a service."

The other two Republicans in the race and all three Democrats said that asking utilities to check customers' immigration status is inappropriate.

2. And if you're a business owner who employs illegal workers you also have nothing to worry about
Wong said he suggests checking only the immigration status of residential customers, not businesses.

3. If you have the money to pay for a service, no matter who you are you get the service.

Imagine if I could prevent you from buying something legal because I didn't like something about you.

Next we will decide who can buy food clothing and shelter and who can't.

16. Next time you break the law please let me know so I can cut your services.
I'm sure you violate driving laws and probably some others.

14. That is really sad. Barry was a very nice guy and I really don't think he believes this.
It just shows how the GOP are running with this. The front runner for Gov in Florida is using Immigration as well and saing he will insitutute Floridas own SB1070.And he looks like he will win the general. This is horrifying. People are appealing to the lowest common demomitor and calling it patriotisim when it is just bigotry. Barry Wong certainly isn't a white guy. I wonder if his electric company should ask for proof of his citizenship if he moves and needs to be reconnected?

15. I thought so too but he's a honking asshole now as far as I'm concerned
Wants to win that primary so badly that he'll take a cheap shot at an already demonized and vulnerable population.

17. Even if a person is here illegally cutting power
might cause the death of someone using a machine to keep them alive. And besides if they know the person is illegal, how come they are arrested and deported. And if they can find them why are they ranting and raving and stopping people and now wanting to cut off power. Suppose they cut off power to someone here legally just because they are Spanish. I'd sue the ba***rds.

19. So how will they actually know the status?
If employers claim they have no way of knowing the status of people how will these guys?

Oh I get it; they will just shut the power to houses with brown skinned people.
