Disturbing Sheriff Incident
I was going into the Fed Ex Kinkos in Fort Lauderdale on U S 1 and this elderly gentleman who seemed confused asked me for directions. I really couldn't understand him but wanted to help him. If I could have understood him I would have drove him to his destination. He didn't have a car. I saw a sheriff's car and wanted to get its attention so I hollered. What was I supposed to do? The first words out of the sheriff's mouth was "Don't holler" not "What's wrong?". She was off duty because she was in civilian clothes. If she didn't want to be bother she shouldn't take the sheriff's car home with her. The free use of the car is a perquisite of the job. To top things off she spoke a few seconds to the elderly gentleman and left him there. I should have called another sheriff.
