Mexico, not the US. Of course as it crosses the Yucatan, anything can happen. Keep your eyes open.

hurricane season has opened and because of the hot weather it's gonna be a potentially bad one, we just have to be fast on our feet and hope

7. A tropical wave a few hundred miles behind Alex is moving considerably above the Gulf region

Tropical Storm Alex continues to move north, northwest on a path towards Mexico, near Texas. Although hurricanes are unpredictable and can change direction at any time, most models have Alex striking Mexico as a minor hurricane or a tropical storm. The Deep Horizon oil spill has many anxious about possible disruptions in relief well drilling and even the containment cap over the ruptured well, which might have to be removed in the event of a strong storm. At this time there are no strong indications that Alex will cause major disruptions in the Gulf region of the spill. An event coupling a strong storm or hurricane with a major oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, has never been experienced. Many have theorized possible consequences but none with any certainty.

A tropical wave a few hundred miles behind Alex is moving considerably above the Gulf region effected by oil, and if developed in weeks to come, could move towards Florida. Some scientists predict a strong storm in the Florida region might push oil back out to sea instead of onto land, since the oil spill would be on the left side of a hurricane and the counter-clockwise movement would push water and oil away from land.
