In America where poverty, homelessness and lack of medical care is literally killing scores
of people, why do we still get so freaked out by suicide? It's the most hypocritical thing I've ever seen. "NO! You CANNOT kill yourself! Let US do it for you!!!"
2. Well we really don't freak about it, so many soldiers are coming home
and killing themselves, meanwhile local VA hospitals fall apart or have rodents running around eating the dead cockroaches. No one gives a fuck, this is the 'I got mine, fuck you' century.
3. But I think we *do* freak out, in the sense that
if you tell your doctor (or anyone who will report it) that you are suicidal, you WILL get locked up involuntarily. I just don't understand why there are resources for that but not for shelter, food and other kinds of critical life-saving medical care.
